Wedding DJ Service | Dreaming of A Wedding

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life and will be a time you reflect on forever. If you’re like most couples we speak with, you’ve probably been daydreaming about this moment since your childhood. To have your wedding live up to your expectations, hiring expert "Wedding DJ" is a must. While there is no shortage of wedding vendors in every category, hiring the best fit can be quite a challenge – especially if you’re factoring in a budget and are looking for the right value too. Here are some tips to ensure you find the right fit for your wedding:

1)    Do your research

The key to finding the best team of vendors for your wedding can be boiled down to one word: research. The ideal place to start your search is online through Google, Weddingwire or Facebook. Simply type in “Vancouver wedding DJ” or “DJ service” and look at the results until you find some vendors you resonate with. You can also take a look at their Facebook & Google reviews from past clients. Another great way to source your vendors is to ask for recommendations from your friends, family and co-workers – particularly from those close to you who have prior experience planning their own wedding or hiring past vendors. You can take this one step further by asking what they liked or didn’t like from their past experiences and apply their suggestions to hiring the right team. You’ll find that going with these recommendations are often a great choice as you and your friends likely already have similar tastes.

You can also search wedding directories such as Weddingwire.ca or Vancityweddings.com to find vendors in every category. Please note that listings with labels such as ‘Top’, ‘Featured’ or ’Premium’ simply mean that these particular vendors are paying a premium to be listed at the top of the page.

2)    Make a list

After doing your preliminary research, odds are you’ll start seeing the exact same vendors popping up again and again in each category. Once you’ve come across some vendors you feel good about contacting, make a shortlist of approximately 3 vendors that you can contact for each service that you need.

3)    Contact your shortlisted vendors

Now that we’ve shortlisted a select group of vendors for each category, it’s time to start contacting them and requesting information. You can take a deeper dive into their website, but ultimately we always recommend that you call your wedding vendors. Their response to picking up the phone from an unknown number will tell you a lot about the company and their professionalism. Especially if they don’t end up picking up the call in general. We highly recommend phoning your vendors to get a good feel of the type of person they are, and to make sure they’re the right fit for you and your wedding. On the phone call, you can talk about your expectations, vision and your needs. If it takes multiple days to get a reply, or you receive poor information from a vendor, this is likely a bad sign and will only get worse with time – trust your gut.

4)    Hire a vendor!

The true sign of a good wedding vendor is someone who knows how to bring the best out of your wedding but is also flexible and will bring your vision to life. They’re willing to work with you to make sure that nothing is overlooked. You’ll want to pick someone who understands you, your vision and someone who also shares your excitement for your wedding day!
